"The Story of Rain" by Ellie Arsenault

I hear you

Beating against the tempered glass

Your rhythmic melody

Tapping on the charcoal gray roof

It sounds like music

A sweet lullaby

Your drops race down the window

Leaving narrow clear trails

I wonder what you once were

The ocean?

A lake?

A puddle, maybe?

Someone's glass of water

Left out on a summer day

Your life never-ending

Just resetting all the time

Living forever

It must get boring
